Hot FAQ about ARL Terminal Resource Planner Add-On

What if ETA & ETD is changing?

That's the whole point of computer supported resource planning - ETA and ETD ARE changing! Just reflect the new ETA and ETD in the time-space dimension, and it will be obvious which other adjustments and opportunities you need to pursue with your berth plan.If the ETA/ETDs are maintained in a separate system, import an XML file containing fresh ETA/ETDs into the ARL Terminal Resource Manager, and your resources will be distributed correctly to the appropriate time slots.

How can I share the resource plan with my colleagues?

The ARL Terminal Resource Manager create an excel matrix with time and resource count per resource type, which you can email or fax to your colleagues and partners.

What if I use a Labour Management System (LMS) to manage my people resources?

The Terminal Resource Manager produce an XML file with planned resources, which you can import into your LMS (assuming it can read the format provided) and do your detailed people assignments, salary and over-time management.

What does it cost?

Each deployable solution is charged a license fee depending on the size of your terminal, which includes one year free support & maintenance - it starts at just USD 40K (including the ARL Berthing Planner). After expiry of one year support & maintenance you will be offered yearly support & maintenance at a cost of 15% of the current license fee.

You can also lease the tool on yearly basis.

Will it also work for full ports (port authorities or private multi-terminal operators)?

Yes it will, we are, however, looking into a version focused on the full port resource management across all individual terminal operators. You can already add value with the current version, and later it will get even better.
